The room was as quiet as it gets with two littles chasing each other around. She smiled down at her belly, at the baby who would complete their family. A small voice, so similar to her own, said, “You look so beautiful, Mommy.” She said the words simply, matter-of-fact, as if she had said them a thousand times before. As if she had heard them a thousand times before.

In my heart, I knew she had — which is what made this moment so special. It takes a loving mom and dad to raise loving babies, and that’s the Haney family summed up in one simple word: loving. They love on each other just as well as they love on everyone around them. They take the time to know you, to remember you, and to be known by them is to be loved by them.
