The doors in the back of the church were closed, yet everyone was looking back at them. Waiting to see when a tearful, grinning Jenna would be appear when they opened. All of the people that they loved the most in this world held their breath. And on the other side so did she. But her sweet Dad looked at her with eyes full of pride. And pulled out his phone, for one last celebratory selfie before the doors opened and her wedding ceremony started. He was proud of that image as he told me about it later. That moment was more than a picture. It was the culmination of years of love and memories between a father and daughter, distilled into one photo.

Just a few minutes later, Jenna was locking hands with Alex at the front of the church. There was a tenderness in the way she embraced her dad, in the way Alex looked at her, and in every vow they exchanged. You could feel the weight of how much this day meant to them—and how long they’d been dreaming of it.

They offered me water, made sure I had everything I needed, and even gave me a little gift bag with honey from their farm. That same farm where we captured their engagement session last year. Everything about their wedding day was such a beautiful reflection of who they are—warm, generous, thoughtful, and rooted in faith and family. It was the kind of day you don’t forget.
