I’ve always been a holiday-tradition girl at heart. There’s something about the little rituals we return to each year that makes this season feel magical. For the last five years, Christmas Mini Sessions have been one of my favorite traditions—something that fills me with so much joy as I get to witness families grow, change, and come back year after year.
Although I have to admit, last year I didn’t do them. Partly because I was in the thick of one of the busiest seasons of my career and partly because I was beginning my pregnancy journey. But now that my life has changed in the biggest, most beautiful way, I know I’ll never skip again. This will be my very first Christmas as a family of three. We welcomed our sweet Alden this year, and seeing him grow and change has made me realize just how important these sessions are.
Whether this was your first Christmas Mini or your fourth, my hope is the same: that these images help you remember exactly what this moment in life felt like.
The Reber Family,
Photographing you guys every year is the sweetest thing. We have years of memories, frozen in time. One of my favorite shots from this session is the three littles all snuggled up, because it reminds me of the first picuture I took of them–when Kam was just a few weeks old and the girls cuddled up next to him. Getting to document how you’ve grown together has been such a gift. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
The Biglin Family,
From your engagement photos to your wedding day, I’ve had a front-row seat to your love. When Brodie was just a baby, we captured some of my favorite photos. I’ll never forget him clumsily walking with your hands in his, and now you’re a family of four. It was so fulfilling to see you guys and meet baby Isaac. All of my love to you!
The Allen Family,
It was such an honor to capture your first family Christmas photos with baby Emersyn—the most beautiful rainbow baby. She is the sweetest, softest little girl. I can tell just how much you guys adore her–the way you look at her says everything. I’m so grateful I got to met you guys preserve this precious season.
Jessica & Lincoln,
Jessica, I loved getting to photograph your wedding last year, and I still remember how kind, loving, and genuinely connected you and Jeremy were. Meeting your sweet boy Lincoln felt like watching your love story grow in the most beautiful way. He was all smiles, soaking in every moment with you, and it melted my heart to capture it. I’m so grateful I got to meet him.
Cameo, Perry & Cooper,
Cameo, you have been such a bright spot since the very first time I met you. Getting to reconnect with you—this time with Perry and your angel of a pup, Cooper—brought me so much joy. The three of you are such an easy, genuine, love-filled trio, and I loved every second of documenting your laughter, your connection, and your sweet pup!
Mallary, Ryan, Josie & Baby on the Way,
Mallary and Ryan, you’re in the sweetest kind of chaos right now—chasing after Josie while preparing your hearts for baby number two. Josie brought all the personality to your session: fun, sassy, goofy, chatty, and endlessly on the move. One day you’ll look back at these photos and instantly remember this season: the whirlwind, the joy, the exhaustion, and the magic of watching your little girl shine before she becomes a big sister. I loved capturing every moment of it.
My Own Little Family,
And lastly… my own Christmas photos. Our first as a family of three.
Photographing ourselves (with incredible help from my mom) felt surreal. I couldn’t help but think of all the families I’ve photographed. Alden is already changing so fast, and having these photos means everything to me.
Another year of Christmas Minis is wrapped, and I am more grateful than ever because I’m not just the photographer behind the camera—I’m a mom wanting to freeze these fleeting moments, too. Thank you to every family for trusting me, year after year, to capture the love, chaos, and connection that makes your story yours. Here’s to traditions, to new beginnings, to growing families, and to holding onto the moments that matter most.
Merry (early) Christmas, from my family to yours!🎄
