For a moment, everyone held their breath. Time slowed down. The sound of worship music filled their hearts, as Amanda and John wrapped their arms around each other. This was a moment they prayed and planned for. And for one song, they got to look at each other, take it in, and share the tears of joy that marked the start of their marriage. They stood side by side, next to the alter and took their first communion together. They couldn’t see the way the people they loved the most looked onto them lovingly. It felt like everyone in the room was wrapping their arms around the new marriage. It was simple and sacred and a perfect testament to Amanda & John’s love.
The entire day carried that same feeling. Amanda was so easygoing, moving through each moment with laughter and grace. Even as the rain came down, she never stopped smiling. And from the moment I said hi to John and told him how beautiful his wife-to-be looked, I could tell he was so ready to see her, as if he had spent the morning counting down the minutes until their ceremony. Despite the steady rain, this day was so beautiful. And somehow, I’m convinced the rain made their portraits even more beautiful. From start to finish, their wedding at Brookside Farms (where their engagement session was last spring!) (total full circle moment!) was a reflection of who they are — joyful, grounded, and full of love.
Amanda & John,
To know you is to be your friend. Everyone whose lives you enter you stay with such intention and care. I’ve loved getting to know you two and witnessing such a beautiful start to your marriage. I will forever be cheering you on, and I hope this images are a forever reminder of your love for generations to come.
