The beautiful thing about weddings is that they can be a direct reflection of the legacy of love that builds each of us. The kind of love that has been passed down from one generation to the next. Grace & Tyler have been surrounded by that kind of love in every capacity, and it’s brought them here. To the day they’ll start their own marriage. Her Grandpa Dave knew he had to cement that in them before the celebration of the night had swept them away. They were holding hands as they were moments away from walking into their reception and the start of their lives as one. Before Tyler could reach the door to hold it for his new bride, there he was. Grandpa Dave was holding the door wide open for the new Mr. and Mrs. As they walked through, he greeted them with a hug and said, “On my wedding day, when I married your beautiful grandma and my bride of 55 years, my dad said to me I hope you’re as happy in life as your mother and I and I just wanted to pass that along to you.” Tears were welling her eyes as she thought about the marriage between her grandparents, parents, and Tyler’s parents. Sometimes, a legacy that’s passed down to us is the biggest blessing we could every pray for, and oh what a joyful way to start a marriage.
The entire day was about them. It was about the trials and tribulations they’ve overcome to get to this day. To get to the moment they would say I do, with the people that love them the most in this world. I couldn’t help but admire their families, their joy, and the way they loved on each other. It was as if everything fell into place for them on this day. With nothing but overcast for most of the day, we couldn’t believe it when the sun even lit up the sky as it was setting, as if the universe itself was congratulating them.
Grace & Tyler,
I am forever grateful to have been even just a small part of this beautiful day. I hope that these images are a forever reminder of the legacy of love that you come from and that you use that legacy to establish your own. I loved being around your contagious smiles and I can’t wait to see where this life takes you, I’ll forever be cheering you on!
