The snow fell softly. She couldn’t even feel it land on her cheek. As it fell all around them, their eyes were locked on each other. The world is full of distractions. The Christmas lights and the busyness of downtown would’ve captured their attention any other day. But in almost one week they would be husband and wife, and nothing could take their attention off of each other.

I couldn’t help but smile at their excitement. The way they spoke about their future was enticing. It felt like a story about to unfold right in front of my eyes. A story they would pass down. College graduation, starting their professional careers, and of course their relationship. It was all happening soon and so fast. They leaned into each other hoping to always remember the way they felt in that exact moment.
